Over the next 25 years, Bristol Temple Quarter will see significant investment and regeneration. This will deliver new jobs, infrastructure, homes, and business space.
To be a success the investment must benefit the people who live, work and study in Bristol and the wider West of England. This means tackling the barriers which currently impact on people’s economic prosperity, and making it possible for everyone to access the opportunities that are created at Temple Quarter in the future.
To support this, we are developing an approach to 'Inclusive Economic Growth' for Temple Quarter. This will help us define the type of economy we want to create at Temple Quarter, and the practical things we need to do over the coming years to realise this.
For example, how can developing Temple Quarter create good quality and accessible work opportunities for local people? How can it support local business?
How can it create places where people can spend time together as a community? How can it enable local communities to be healthier and happier?
What do we mean by inclusive growth?
Our focus on inclusive growth is all about realising the potential of Temple Quarter in a way which maximises long term outcomes for local people.
To do this, we recognise we need to focus on a broad spectrum of factors which affect quality of life.
