Engagement has concluded
Overview
A School Street is a road outside a school with a temporary restriction on motorised traffic at school drop-off and pick-up times. School Street schemes offer a proactive solution for school communities to tackle road danger, poor health and air pollution. The result is a safer, healthier and more pleasant environment for everyone.
Bristol City Council launched a pilot School Streets scheme at Redfield Educate Together Primary Academy on 26th May 2021. This was introduced for an initial period of 8 months and can last for up to 18 months, by means of an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order. We are now asking for your feedback on how you think it has been working, perceptions on compliance and safety, the impact on your daily life, and level of support for the scheme becoming permanent.
Please respond to this survey no later than Wednesday 13th April. This survey should not take longer than 10 minutes to complete. You do not have to answer all the questions, but the more you tell us, the more we can take your views into account.
What happens next?
The consultation findings and evaluation data for the scheme will be considered by the council before deciding on whether to make the scheme permanent. Once a decision has been made, we will work with the school in inform parents, and write to local residents and businesses in the affected area to advise them of the final decision.
