Overview

Bristol City Council’s housing delivery team is looking at early designs for new affordable homes on a small site located at 190-196 Romney Avenue.

The council is partnering with Bristol Housing Festival, Modulous and AHR architects to develop this project, which will showcase high quality, sustainable apartments built using Modern Methods of Construction. It is part of a wider programme to use new methods of house building to improve the speed, cost and social value of new housing built in the city.

The Romney Avenue project is part of several developments in the Lockleaze area that will create a thriving community that is well connected to the rest of the city.

Why is your feedback important?

We are at the very early stages of this process and want to reach as many people in the community as possible. This project will be in your neighbourhood and we want your views to help us shape the design. Tell us what you like and dislike about the proposals for the site.

How can you take part?

This is a genuine opportunity for your comments to be considered. We have drawn up a design option for the site and would like you to tell us what you like and dislike about it.

What will happen next?

This is the first stage of the engagement and consultation plan and there will be more community engagement as we develop the proposals.

When the survey closes on 29 March 2021, we will:

  • review all your comments and suggestions and update the proposals where possible
  • develop the design following feedback from internal teams and initial feedback from the local planning authority
  • run a public engagement on the amended design and proposals where we will show you how we have responded to comments from the first consultation and you can comment on the updated design
  • use all those comments to create a detailed planning submission for permission to build
  • give you a final opportunity to comment as part of the formal planning application process.
