Between 11 September and 22 October 2023 Bristol City Council ran an engagement asking people about their views on the route and any issues they face when using it. People who live by or travel along Concorde Way were encouraged to feed into the early engagement exercise. This was to find out how this main route into the city can be improved to make cycling and walking safer and more enjoyable in turn increasing the number of people who use it.

In total, 373 responses were received and people feeling safe was given the highest importance across all three sections of the route with safer cycle routes being the second highest. People also felt more room was needed across all three sections and an improved surface. Specific comments included widening the existing paths in J3 roundabout and improve legibility and more of the route to be separated from the road. Another point to note was the required improvement in lighting and the need for a parallel crossing over Muller Road towards the new Concorde Way alignment.
