This consultation has now concluded.

Scope of consultation

The consultation has three surveys which cover different aspects of the City Centre DDP.

This survey asks for your views on the Broadmead Placemaking Plan, which defines in more detail our proposals for transforming seven types of streets and spaces in Broadmead. It also describes strategies for the evening economy and for lighting after dark. The Broadmead Placemaking Plan area is shown on the map.

There are two other separate surveys; one on the overall vision & strategies for the DDP and one on the more detailed plan for Castle Park. When you finish this survey, you will be re-directed back to the DDP hub page where you can access the other surveys. Alternatively, you can go directly to the hub page here if you do not wish to complete the survey about Broadmead.

Information to help you answer the survey questions

This survey provides information about the Broadmead Placemaking Plan relevant to each question. For more detailed information about the Broadmead Placemaking Plan, you can refer to Part B of the full DDP document.

You can read the full DDP document (Part A and Part B) and a summary of the DDP (the summary is designed to give a brief overview only) using the links in the 'These are the documents we are consulting on' section on this page.

Have your say

Please click on the link below to start the survey. All questions are optional. You can skip any questions you do not wish to answer, but please make sure you click 'Finish survey' on the last page.

Please make sure you submit your response by 1 October 2023.

If you need the City Centre DDP, the summary document or any of the three surveys in an alternative format, such as easy read or translation, please email CityCentreDDP@bristol.gov.uk or telephone 0117 92 24409 to let us know which documents you need. Paper versions are available at Central Library, Deanery Road, Bristol BS1 5TL.

What happens next?

All responses to this consultation will be analysed. The feedback will be used to help develop an updated version of the City Centre DDP. A decision on whether to approve the updated DDP will be made by Bristol City Council’s Cabinet in late 2023 / early 2024. In making their decision, the council’s Cabinet will consider the report of consultation responses.

If the Plan is approved, it will become a ‘material consideration’ meaning the council will have to refer to it when deciding on planning applications or commenting on regeneration proposals.
