Engagement has concluded
Overview
The Bristol Health and Wellbeing Board has a statutory responsibility to develop and update Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) as mandated by the Health and Social Care Act 2012.
The Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) assesses how well existing pharmaceutical services meet health needs of the people of Bristol. It identifies gaps and highlight priorities for future developments, and It will be used by the NHS England South (South West) team to inform decisions on future pharmaceutical commissioning intentions and when they consider applications for new or relocated premises. The NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group and Bristol City Council (BCC) may also use it when determining needs to commission services that might be provided by local pharmaceutical services.
Why your views matter
Part of the PNA process is to gather information from Bristol residents on their experiences of using existing pharmaceutical services to help us to identify needs within Bristol and develop a tool to support the commissioning for pharmaceutical services in the next three years (2022-2025). For the purposes of this survey, pharmaceutical services include dispensing of prescriptions, sale of medicines, advice from a pharmacist and any NHS or Public Health services provided from a Community Pharmacy.
What happens next
The responses to this engagement survey will be used to develop the PNA which will be consulted on in June 2022.
