Consultation has concluded

Overview

We sought views earlier this year on a new draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) relating to the development of houses in multiple occupation (HMOs). This guidance will support existing Local Plan policy used to decide planning applications for this type of accommodation. The policy aims to encourage balanced communities in Bristol by preventing harmful concentrations of HMOs. This new draft SPD will help to implement the policy by identifying situations where harmful HMO concentrations might arise.

Changes have now been made to the draft SPD in response to the comments and suggestions received. A revised document has been published and representations are sought. The council have also published a consultation statement and evidence paper.

Why your views matter

Representations are sought before the council make a decision on whether to adopt the draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).
