Bristol Local Plan - Further Consultation
Consultation has concluded
Overview
Bristol’s local plan is being reviewed.
The new local plan will:
- update all existing policies for deciding planning applications
- guide development across the city over the next twenty years
Why we are consulting
We are consulting you now so we can take your views and suggestions into account whilst producing the new local plan.
We are seeking your views on drafts of additional and revised policies and proposals that we propose to include in the new local plan. The topics covered by this consultation include ecology, homes, jobs, sustainability, design policy, sites for development, and applications for advertising. We are not consulting on the complete draft of the new local plan at this time.
The responses to this consultation will feed into the next stage of the draft plan which will be published for representations in Summer 2023 and open to further public comment. Following this stage, the plan will be submitted for examination by the planning inspector with the aim for it to be adopted in Autumn 2024.

For users of Easy Read, we have extended the deadline for responses until Sunday 12 February 2023. You can read an Easy Read version of the consultation information and then click here to tell us what you think using the online survey. Alternatively, you can email your ideas to us (blp@bristol.gov.uk) or write to us at the address above.
If you are a Disabled person and it would be more convenient for you to record your feedback or send a voice memo as an audio file, please do so. You can also upload comments as an audio file (if less than 50 MB) using the upload file option in the online survey.
